The Shouters and the "Control Freak” Empire This thought-provoking documentary questions power and social control by exposing the central conflict between Eurocentric and Afrocentric religions. The film re-visits the 1917 Prohibition Ordinance that made the practice of the “Shouter” Baptist religion in Trinidad and Tobago illegal, and looks at the causes and the effects of the legislation, both on members of the faith and the general public.
